Tell us about your dental career ?
I started my career in Dentistry as a Dental Therapist, graduating from the University of Edinburgh in 2020 with an honour’s degree. The same year, I moved to Aberdeen to pursue my dream of becoming a dentist and began my second degree in Dentistry. I graduated in June 2025 with a Commendation for academic achievement.
In total, I spent 9 years studying to become a Dentist!
During my studies, in 2018, I was awarded an ‘Excellence in Paediatric Dentistry’ award from the British Society of Paediatric Dentistry. In 2024, I also received the winning entry from Aberdeen University for the British Academic Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons undergraduate essay prize.
Do you focus on any aspects of dentistry?
I enjoy most aspects of Dentistry but particularly enjoy Paediatric Dentistry and treatment of anxious patients. In the future I would like to be able to train in sedation to be able to offer this to our patients.
What do you do away from work?
I enjoy keeping social and seeing my friends regularly. My partner and I love to travel, although this has been difficult as I’ve been a student for so long! We are now organising our wedding and brainstorming honeymoon ideas…all recommendations welcome!
