Did you know…

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is part of Windmill Dental Care's Standard Precautions for infection prevention and control. In tandem with other measures (such as good ventilation, correct handling of waste, immunisation and correct working practices, PPE can help to minimise the possibility of exposure to infections for patients and staff

What do we wear to help prevent the spread of infection within Windmill Dental Care?

Windmill Dental Care will always make it our priority to put the safety and care of our patients and staff at the heart of our business. One way we do this is to make sure all our staff are trained and provided with the correct Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). So what do we wear?

  • Patient Protection:

    • Patients are asked to wear eye protection (glasses) prior to any examination or treatment and may also have a protective bib in place to cover their clothing

  • Dental Staff Protection:

    • Eyes: we wear glasses or visors during treatments and when cleaning instruments which will stop liquids and materials spraying in our eyes

    • Hands: sterile single use gloves are worn which are put on at the start of treatment and removed at the end

    • Face: we wear visors to help protect splatter on our faces. We also may wear protective face masks
